My name is Tinneal Rowsome. I am a leather artist, creating luxury goods and art pieces by way of traditional and contemporary crafting methods.

My journey into leather crafting began in 2005, in rural Manitoba, Canada. I needed a new bridle for my horse, but nothing in the local shop was quite what I had in mind - the style and construction left something to be desired, and I thought I could do something better. A local cobbler offered to guide me through the creation process, and by the time the bridle was complete, I knew this was what I wanted to do. Since then, leatherwork has been the one constant in my life, through the ups and downs. It's been a comfort, and a way to express my artistry.

In these 18+ years of practice, my focus and direction has changed many times. My early endeavours were focused on horse tack and harness, as that was the community I was involved in. Since then, I have branched out into many different areas - a reflection of the growth and changes throughout my life. At this time, my focus is on reading, notebooks, and stationery, as well as staple products such as wallets, but I am still exploring, and will never stop growing. I have ambitions for a project I hope to bring to life soon. There's always something on the horizon.

For me, leatherworking is both an art form, and a commitment to exceptional quality. It is also a commitment to sustainability, and a way to combat our throwaway society. I strive for each and every piece I create to be a reflection of my skill, creativity, and deep passion for the medium, with artistic uniqueness, function, and longevity as the end result.

I owe much of my success to the friends, family, and customers who have supported me along the way, be it purchasing an item, trusting me with a commission, or simply offering words of encouragement and mentorship.

Support from you is the best compliment an artist can receive.

Thanks for taking the time to get to know me!
